Mikel Arteta and Steven Pienaar fired Everton to their seventh successive Barclays Premier League home win after a strong second-half showing saw off 10-man Bolton 2-0.

Arteta broke the deadlock after 72 minutes with a stunning free-kick after last man Gretar Steinsson was sent off for bundling Yakubu over.

Pienaar then wrapped up victory two minutes from time by side-footing into an empty net following good work from Leon Osman, who had hit the bar seconds earlier.
