PINNER'S Leigh Lattimore claimed gold to help Oaklands College Athletics Team retain their Southern England Students Sports Association (SESSA) title for the third year in a row.
She coasted to victory in the women's 3,000m A final to become one of three gold medalHOsts for the college, which secured a record medal haul including seven silver and three bronze.
The night saw outstanding individual and team achievements, highHOghted by the men's 60m final with Oaklands having three final-ists, including students that ranked in first and second place. Antoe Walters came first with 6.80s with Hayes' Dewayne Simms in second.
Simms also helped the men's relay team win gold ahead of such renowned universities as Imperial, Oxford and Cambridge.
Gary Anderson, academy and performance director at Oaklands College, said: "I am extremely pleased with all the athletes' performances especially considering we are not yet in full competition phase.
"This means that we can improve and build on this with greater results and achievements from the athletics academy."
Mark Dawe, principal and chief executive at Oaklands, added: "We are very proud of the exceptional standard of our sporting students. The results are testament to the hard work of the athletes and the guidance and support structure in place from within the athletics academy.
