The buck stops here for Hendon

HENDON begin their defence of the London Senior Cup at neighbours South Kilburn at the Vale Farm Sports Centre on Saturday (1.30pm kick-off).

The Greens then host Canvey Island in the Ryman Premier next Tuesday (7.45pm). Rest assured they will be looking to bounce back from last Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Kingstonian.

Gary McCann's side wasted a host of chances but clinical second half finishes by Carl Wilson-Dennis and Bobby Traynor (2) sealed a flattering win for the hosts.

"It looked very promising for the first 50 minutes or so and looked like we were going to get something," said McCann.

"I don't think the scoreline reflects the game.

"But how many more times do I have to say that.

"Their manager Alan Dowson told me we had caused them a lot of trouble, but we do that to most teams and we have not got any reward.

"They were more clinical than we were and once they had scored I could see from our body language that we were going to struggle to get anything from the game."

Meanwhile, midfielder Wes Daly has been released by the club just weeks after joining.
