Wealdstone 3-0 Tooting & Mitcham United

A dominant first half display saw Wealdstone cruise to victory against their bogey side Tooting & Mitcham United at St George's Stadium tonight (Monday).

Goals from Scott Fitzgerald and Greg Ngoyi (2) put the imperious Stones in complete control at the break against the terrible Terrors.

And while the second half failed to live up to the first there was only ever going to be one outcome as the hosts looked far more hungrier and sharper than United for the duration.

For Stones this was sweet revenge against a side who had inflicted plenty of misery upon them in recent seasons. Tooting have prevailed 2-0 and 3-0 since the Stones moved to the Vale while this was only Bartlett's men's first win over United in four outings – the last being a 3-2 away victory in the 2008/09 season.

The first chance of the game fell to the hosts after 12 minutes. Louis Lavers floated a free-kick to the back post where the unmarked Kieron Forbes inexplicably headed wide from two yards.

However, Forbes made amends inside a minute. His cross found Fitzgerald, whose neat half-volley gave Luke Garrard no chance as it fizzed into the bottom corner of the net.

Kiernan Mason-Hughes then forced Jonathan North into a superb save from close range but Stones kept their nerve and extended their lead further after 23 minutes.

Chris O'Leary send Fitzgerald galloping away down the right and his clever inside pass allowed Ngoyi to bear down on Garrard before coolly sliding the ball under him.

The game hit a bit of a lull before Fitzgerald almost grabbed his second five minutes before the break. The ball sat up nicely for him and his volley clipped the bar via the slightest of touches from Garrard.

However, in first half stoppage time Ngoyi made it 3-0, extending his leg to Lavers' left-wing cross and diverting it beyond the exposed Terrors keeper.

Stones carried on where they left on at the start of the second half, pressuring the visitors into mistakes and retaining possession well.

Mason-Hughes then fired a shot wide for United, despite being allowed plenty of time and space on the edge of the area.

Peter Dean's speculative header hit the bar as the hosts poured forward once again before Danny Burnell replaced the tireless Ngoyi with 15 minutes left.

Mason-Hughes was then shown a straight red card for a reckless lunch on Dean before Stones saw out the remaining time with minimum fuss.
