WEMBLEY triple jumper Yamile Aldama missed out on a medal at the Olympic Stadium last night.
The veteran, who turns 40 next week, finished fifth in the final with a best jump of 14.48m to leave her 31cm off bronze medalist Olha Saladuha of Ukraine.
Aldama was competing at her fourth Games and she has now represented three countries at the greatest show on earth, having flown the flag before Cuba and Sudan before Team GB.
The gold went to Kazakhstan athlete Olga Rypokova with her third jump of 14.98m and Colombian Caterine Ibarguen grabbed the silver with 14.80m.
Harrow Lawn Tennis Club member Aldama will have taken heart from her showing in front of the home crowd but will be disappointed not to have crept onto the podium.
