Eight die in Pakistan bomb attack

Eight people were killed when a suicide bomber attacked a political rally in north-west Pakistan, officials say.

Police officer Arfan Khan said the blast in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, also injured more than 20 people.

Mr Khan said the rally was being held by the Awami National Party, whose members have been repeatedly targeted by the Taliban.

A provincial Cabinet minister from the party, Bashir Balour, was wounded in the attack.
