A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after a baby suffered life threatening injuries.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the child suffered "non-accidental injuries" on Sunday which were initially described as life threatening.
Graham Draper, 25, will appear before Plymouth magistrates on Tuesday following the incident in the St Judes area of the city.
A second person arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm has been bailed.
The child is understood to be three months old but its sex has not been released by police.
The child was on Monday night in a stable condition in intensive care.
