G20 protests policing 'inadequate'

Police public-order tactics are "inadequate" and should be reviewed, a report into the G20 protests has found.

Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary, Denis O'Connor, said police are too focused on tackling violence and not enough on allowing peaceful protest.

His report also found police use of "kettling" techniques was "inconsistent" when dealing with thousands of protesters in the City of London on April 1.
