HAIRDRESSING and Beauty Therapy students from the College of North West London in Wembley won 12 awards at the southern regional final of the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists Awards.
It scooped four first place, five second place and three third place awards across the nine categories at the event in Dartford, Kent.
Verity Waite, 26, from Brondesbury, won first place in the Avant Garde category and Sarah Shah, 30, from Kingsbury, won second. Ms Waite also won third place in the bridal category along with fellow student Sharline Wilson, 28, from Stonebridge.
The winners will go on to compete in the national finals next month.
Maggie Barth, head of the college’s arts faculty, said: “We were thrilled with what our 12 learners at the regional final achieved on the day.
“They thoroughly enjoyed competing and coming back with 12 awards was outstanding. The students all deserved their wins – they work extremely hard throughout the term.”
