MORTALITY rates in North West London Hospitals are the best in the country, according to a recent survey.he organisation is one of only 11 out of all 142 acute trusts in England to have a ‘lower than expected’ rating.
This finding is based on summary hospital-level mortality indicator (SHMI) data collected by the Health and Social Care Information Centre between July 2010 and June 2012.
Chief executive of the Trust, which manages Northwick Park Hospital, St Mark’s Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital, David McVittie said: “Mortality rates are an important indicator of the quality of care patients receive and this is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff.”
In the new report, SHMI also stated that between July 2012 and June 2012, the Trust had lower mortality rates for emergency and planned care compared to trusts overall.
