A TELEVISION crew spent a day at a college filming a report about getting young people playing football.
On Wednesday last week, a team from Sky Sports News visited Stanmore College, Elm Park, to do a story on the Just Play scheme it is involved in by holding weekly football sessions.
The campaign, run by the Football Association (FA) and Mars, aims to make it easy for people to simply turn up at a nearby location and play football.
The report was part of Sky Sports News’ Get Involved series to demonstrate how the FA is keeping players in the game, as Sport England found that all sports face a tough task trying to keep 16 to 25 year-olds taking part in sport.
Michael Daisy, sports and enrichment manager at the college, was interviewed as he has been heavily involved in the initiative.
She said: “It was very nice that Sky Sports news came into the college to obtain footage and views from young people participating in sports.”
The report was broadcast on Saturday and is available to watch here
