rayners lane accident
A DRIVER was taken to hospital this morning after his red estate car was left lying on its roof in South Harrow.
The Peugeot 406 finished upside down after colliding with a lamppost and knocking over a bollard on a traffic island in Kings Road at its junction with Newquay Crescent at 8.20am on Monday.
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We sent one ambulance crew to the scene. We treated one man, believed to be in his 40s.
"There were no visible injuries but he was taken to Northwick Park Hospital as a precaution."
Amateur photographer Alan Parmer, 56, of Parkville Crescent, South Ruislip, was on his way to work as a payroll manager when he saw the prone vehicle and took some snaps.
The 56-year-old, who normally photographs Watford FC, said: "It was quite a spectacular sight. A few people said the car had taken the bend at break-need speed and had obliterated the traffic island.
"They said it was a notorious bend and that there had been several accidents before, and they said they were trying to get something done."
