A CCTV image of a vehicle has been released in connection with a hit and run in which a motorcyclist died.
Christian Flaubert Miranda Borges, 29, of Gladstone Park Gardens, Dollis Hill, was working as a takeaway delivery driver when he died in the collision, in Islington, on Thursday, November 29.
The Brazilian national was engaged and recently became a father to a baby boy.
Officers were called to Baring Street, Islington, at about 6pm to reports of a collision between a motorcyclist, a London taxi and another vehicle.
The driver of the taxi stopped at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, believed to be a people carrier, stopped ahead at New North Road but then drove off.
Police have released a CCTV image of a vehicle described as a green people carrier.
London Ambulance Service attended, but the motorcyclist, Mr Borges, was pronounced dead at the scene. The next of kin have been notified.
A post-mortem examination, held on Monday last week, at St Pancras Mortuary, gave cause of death as a traumatic neck injury. An inquest opened and adjourned at St Pancras Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, December 5.
Detective Sergeant Chris Osborne, of the Road Death Investigation Unit at Northolt, said: “We are continuing to study a vast amount of CCTV, but it is clear it was a very busy time and there were a lot of people in the area at the time. We would urge those people to come forward with information no matter how trivial it is.”
Anyone with information should call police on 020 8842 1817.
