CHILDREN made a splash at a sponsored swim to raise money for their school.
Twenty-one pupils aged five and over from St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery, in Long Elmes, Harrow, took to Hatch End Pool in Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, on Sunday, November 25, and swam between seven and 100 lengths each to complete a combined 10km.
Trish Horgan, of the school’s Parents and Friends’ Association, said: “During the swim, the team was spurred on by cheering parents, friends and children who came to offer their support.
“It was a fun and challenging event which gave our swimmers the opportunity to work as part of a team, as well as help raise money for the school, including the expansion of the ICT suite. This event also shows how much our school values and promotes healthy lifestyle choices, and how every parent and child can make a difference to the school.
“We are so proud of and grateful to all those who took part this year, and made it such an enjoyable and worthwhile event.”
The PTA have not counted all the sponsorship collected but were hoping to raise as much as last year’s £1,500 total.
