A WILLESDEN man has been jailed for assaulting three Tube workers and an off-duty police officer at a busy underground station.
Adam Kasisi, 22, of Drayton Road, Willesden, and Shane Brewer, 22, of Finborough Road, West Brompton, were both jailed for 21 months at Blackfriars Crown Court on Monday, November 5, after admitting actual bodily harm, common assault and shoplifting.
On New Year’s Day, 2011, at 7.30am, three men were seen trying to steal sweets and sandwiches from a sweet shop at Baker Street station.
A staff member approached the group, asking them to pay for what they had taken.
But one of the group punched the Tube worker before an off-duty Metropolitan Police officer came to help and was also punched in the face. Two other members of staff came to their aid and were assaulted before the group fled.
PC Anna Fisk, of BTP’s workplace violence unit, said the downloaded high-quality CCTV footage of the incident and Kasisi’s mobile phone recovered from the scene, which provided evidence.
The off-duty police officer was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington where he was treated for severe bruising to his face and to one of his eyes.
All three members of Tube staff received cuts and bruises to their faces.
