A LARGE installation made entirely of recycled bottle tops was unveiled to celebrate Brent as a Fairtrade borough.
The artwork was unveiled by the Mayor of Brent, Michael Adeyeye, in Hazel Road Open Space, Kensal Green, on Friday last week, to commemorate Brent’s status as a Fairtrade Borough.
Cricklewood artist Sally Buchanan created the piece, which is made of more than 1,000 plastic bottle tops.
Peter Moore, vice chairman of Brent Fairtrade Network, said: “It was a great way to celebrate a new piece of public art in the borough. It is near Harrow Road where a lot of people will drive or walk past and we are hoping it will mean they will take an interest and wonder what it is about.”
Brent won recognition as a Fairtrade Borough earlier this year after campaigning for eight years.
