A FLASH MOB took over a shopping centre at the weekend showing off their latest dance moves to raise awareness of the new popular dance workout, Booiaka.
St George’s shopping centre in St Ann’s Road was ram packed with shoppers and dance enthusiasts all having a go at Booiaka, a cardio-dance workout.
Students and teachers from recently launched Booiaka classes at Fitness First in the centre performed in front of large crowds of onlookers of all ages.
Shoppers were then encourages to join in the fun and have a taste of the energetic dance workout in a mini workshop.
Booiaka dance instructor, Sylvia Johnstone, also known as Master Boomer, said: “It was such a fun day. The turn out was much better than we had expected, everyone looked like they were having fun.
“I have always been passionate about dance and when I found Booiaka I know I wanted to get others involved as it’s a mood lifter that lets your inner diva out. It’s a great workout and really helps in terms of cardio and toning. I love teaching this form of dance and know my class get such a buzz from it.”
