Brent Council is launching one of the first local authority-hosted websites to help schools embrace a low carbon future.
It will be available through Brent schools’ extranet and offers information about energy efficiency and climate change issues through blogs, videos and resources and guides to download.
In 2011/12, schools in the borough, excluding academies, emitted about 16,070 tonnes of carbon dioxide, which accounted for more than 50 per cent of the local authority’s emissions.
Brent schools have a target of reducing their total carbon dioxide emissions by 25 per cent by 2014.
