A GUN-TOTING robber also armed with a sword shot a member of staff in the head and stole cash from a Kingsbury bank.
Police were called at 11am on Wednesday to the Natwest bank in Kingsbury Road to reports of a robbery.
It is believed the man entered the bank with a sword-type weapon and told frightened front counter staff to hand over money. After taking the cash he shot a male member of staff twice at close range using an air-gun.
The robber then escaped through the bank's fire exit.
The injured man, who is in his 20s, was taken to Northwick Park Hospital, Watford Road, Harrow, with pellet wounds to the head. He has since received treatment and has been discharged. A sword-type weapon and air-gun were recovered at the scene.
Specialist police officers from the Finchley Flying Squad are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information. No arrests have been made at this stage.
