Celebrations welcome Olympics to Harrow

A flag has been raised outside Harrow Civic Centre to celebrate London becoming the official Olympic Games host city.

The Olympic handover flag was raised simultaneously on Sunday with other regions around the UK.

More than 500 flags are now flying outside HM armed forces, embassies and councils.

There was also a showcase of sporting and cultural talent from the borough as well as a live broadcast of the handover from Beijing.

The flag will fly outside the Civic Centre until Friday, September 26.
