In a fix about road junction

I WAS interested to read the letter 'Why we fixed road junction', (Observer, August 5). The headline suggests the problems associated with the junction where George V Avenue, Headstone Lane and Pinner Road all converge have now been resolved. This is certainly not the case.Read

Insult to Falklanders

I WAS rather disturbed to read the details accompanying the council electoral form which I received recently.Read

Let residents have their say

I'M NOT convinced Observer readers would welcome the local government finance rant from Councillor Barry Macleod-Cullinane (Observer letters, August 19) that exposes a rather inflated sense of his party's track record in Harrow.Read

Seeing red about green

I WELCOME the fact your paper has given attention to the unfortunate plans to abolish Brent's Green Zones (Wembley and Willesden Observer, August 5)Read

Stop wasting our money

With more than 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs arriving at our centres each year, this leaves a huge task for the charity's 24 training and behaviour advisers.Read

Victory over barbarism

I WAS delighted to hear last week that the Parliament of Catalonia has voted to ban bullfighting, despite its place in Spain's cultural tradition. For a long time I have been concerned by this barbaric practice and last week was an important step towards the total ban I would like to see.Read

IT junkies put council at risk

OH NO, not again. Labour is being led by the nose by a sharp salesman into fancy, largely pointless and ultimately expensive IT projects that will cost us millions while they cut library and other front-line staff.Read
