I AM surprised at the issue raised by some individuals and narrow-minded people over halal meat in schools.
There is always a choice of meal in the schools: meat dishes and vegetarian dishes and cold food dishes.
Hindu kids eat vegetarian food and the same applies to Sikhs.
In fact, many Hindus and Sikhs who eat meat buy it from Asian halal shops anyway.
There is no issue at all, but there are some people trying to create a problem in the community.
If there is a choice available, then why are people making such a fuss? Halal meat is clean, and so is kosher, and there is a veggie choice available. There, perhaps, the matter should rest.
If the meals are labelled clearly and the choice is there, stop attacking for the sake of it.
