Speed limit on hill a lifesaver

SINCE the introduction of the 20mph speed restriction on Harrow on the Hill there has been a marked improvement in traffic behaviour.

The new limit hasn't affected the volume of traffic crossing the Hill (much of it unnecessary, I'm sure) but to be able to cross the road in comparative safety is a positive boon and a luxury most residents will much appreciate.

I have almost been run over countless times during the past 28 years when using the crossing outside the school's memorial hall.

Naturally we will always get a few foolhardy motorists who feel that the restrictions do not apply to them, but generally I feel the speed limit was an excellent idea and all those concerned deserve our heartiest thanks.
