EARLYBIRD voters at three polling stations in Willesden were accidentally given the wrong ballot paper this morning.
People who turned up at King's Hall in Harlesden Road, Saint Mary Magdalen's RC Junior Mixed School in Linacre Road, and Learie Constantine Centre in Dudden Hill Lane were issued with Brent North papers whereas they should have received Brent Central document instead.
The error was spotted just 20 minutes after the polls opened at 7am. However by that time, 35 voters can already put on a cross on the incorrect papers.
The polling stations closed temporarily until the correct Brent Central ballot papers could be delivered at 8.30am.
Brent Council told the Observer it does not know why the mistake occured but said all 35 victims were being contacted by telephone and asked to return to the polling station to correct cast their vote.
