EXCITED children were able to hold one of the Olympic torches at their nursery.
Willow Tree Nursery in Hirst Crescent, Wembley, celebrated the Olympic torch relay coming to the borough next week and got to see one of the torches on Thursday last week.
The children, who dressed up in their own national colours, also made replica flames out of paper and took part in a mini-torch relay with their sister nursery, Looking Glass Nursery in Richmond, west London.
Magda Piekos, 29, the nursery’s deputy manager, who organised the event, said: “One of the parents was able to organise for the torch to do the visit. The children and the parents loved it. “Everyone was taking photos, including me. It was a once in a life time experience. ”
