If you like comedy dark
A FARCICAL black comedy revolving around a theatre-hating drama critic comes to the Compass courtesy of Magic Hat Productions. Arsenic and Old Lace, a play by Joseph Kesselring, sees Mortimer Brewster attempt to deal with his crazy, homicidal family and local police in Brooklyn, New York, while he debates whether to marry the woman he loves.
After each show, Magic Hat will be collecting money for the North London Hospice and Barnardo's children's charity. There will also be a raffle, with a jeroboam of Lanson Champagne among the prizes.

FIGURE portraits created by a local artist will grace the walls of Stanmore Library.
Julie Farley, of Montrose Avenue, Edgware, has taken commissions from all over the world, often working from photographs and never actually meeting the subject in person.
She said: "I took up painting again about 10 years ago.
"My initial training consisted of an O-level and a few life drawing classes, but I was always drawing as a child.
"After retiring from my job with the Health Protection Agency and working nine-to-five-plus all my life, I am now enjoying my time. My life is more satisfying and productive than it has ever been and I feel free to work at things I am really passionate about."
Julie will be happy to sell the portraits, and to take commissions.

Feeling anti-social? Then here's something right up your alleyway
ROUGH and ready breakbeat-inspired sonic techno comes to The Trinity Bar in a week's time when The Asbo Kid perform a live gig upstairs.
Not a single musician - as the name suggests - the act is actually James Aitkin and Justin Welsh, who come with some pop pedigree, one being a former member of 90s indie dance band EMF and the other an ex-member of chart act Elastica.
The West Country pair pumped out a set at Shoreditch's 93 Feet East that was described as a 'rave, dub and old school chaotic experience'.
So revellers should expect an energetic, nostalgia-tipped noise-athon when the act comes to town next Thursday next week.
