Harrow's most treasured location
WHY not learn more about one of Harrow's most treasured locations once owned by
Henry VIII and now a Grade I listed building?
Hour-long guided tours of Headstone Manor, pictured, take place at 3pm every Saturday and Sunday, until Sunday, November 29.
It was built around 1310 and is not only the earliest surviving timber framed building in Middlesex, but is also surrounded by the only filled moat that still exists in north-west London.
In 1925 Hendon Rural District Council bought the site and it passed into the control of Harrow Council following local government reorganisation.
Together with the tithe barn, small barn and granary, Headstone Manor makes up Harrow Museum and Heritage Centre.
